Work Location: On-site – Kearney, NE
Important: This is a fully in-person position. Applicants must be able to reliably commute to our location and work on-site during all scheduled hours.


Knowledge & Experience:

Essential Functions of Position:

The System Administrator’s role is to design, install, configure, administer, automate, and optimize systems servers and related components to achieve high availability and performance of the various applications supported.

 

  1. Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers.
  2. Coordinate with network engineering, business application, and database administration function to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of systems utilizing industry best practices and organization standards to meet corporate objectives to meet business demands.
  3. Preform and review security audits and scans regularly and implement necessary changes.
  4. Actively collaborate while troubleshooting cross-platform, hardware, client software or other integration solutions.
  5. Maintain and support MDM solutions to streamline workstation deployment.
  6. Assist in planning, maintaining, and testing system backups to ensure successful restoration can be achieved in the event of an IT disaster.
  7. Monitor system, server, and application, performance and provide statistics and reports as requested.
  8. Support and understand CI/CD framework in application and systems lifecycle to further automation.
  9. Establish system standards and implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure system security.
  10. Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software and hardware procurement and development efforts.
  11. Recommend, plan, schedule, and perform hardware and software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, and reconfigurations.
  12. Participate in negotiations with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure software products and service.
  13. Develop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use.
  14. Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.
  15. Adhere to regular and dependable attendance.
  16. Willingness to learn new technologies and adopt ESU 10’s IT strategic concepts.
  17. Other duties as assigned
