Qualifications:
Minimum:

• Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development, Social Work or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Five years of experience in early childhood education.
• Ability to use technology.
• Direct experience in a coaching role is preferred.
• Knowledge and expertise regarding developmentally appropriate practices.
• Maintain confidentiality/boundaries related to children, families, staff, and programs.
• Maintain a commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and strong organizational skills.
• Completion of the NE Early Childhood Coach training and the Nebraska Pyramid Coach Training.

 
Preferred:

• Extensive knowledge and experience of Sixpence Childcare Partnerships quality indicators.
• Familiarity, experience, or reliability in environmental rating tools (Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale (FCCRS), Infant Toddler Environmental Rating Scale (ITERS) and Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS)
• Extensive knowledge and experience of Pyramid Model practices and social-emotional development.
• Previous coaching experience.
• Familiarity, experience, or reliability in Pyramid data collection tools including, but not limited to: the Teaching Pyramid Observation Tool (TPOT), the Teaching Pyramid Infant-Toddler Observational Scale (TPITOS), Benchmarks of Quality (BOQ), and Prevent, Teach, Reinforce – Young Children (PTR-YC);
• Completed Nebraska Coach Booster Series training on The Nebraska Early Childhood Coaching Guidebook: Competencies for Professional Practice, Understanding of adult learning principles and collaborative teaming.

Job Overview:
The Sixpence Childcare Partnership Coach is responsible for supporting and enhancing the quality of early childhood education programs within the Sixpence Child Care Initiative. This role involves coaching childcare providers, developing professional development plans and fostering collaborative partnerships to improve outcomes for children.

Essential Functions of the Position:

Coaching:

• Provide individualized coaching and support to childcare providers to enhance their skills and practices.
• Conduct regular site visits to observe and assess program quality and provider performance.
• Develop and implement action plans for continuous improvement in line with Sixpence program standards.

Professional development:

• Along with the coordinator and other coaches, organize and facilitate training workshops, seminars and professional development opportunities for childcare providers and other early care educators.
• Stay updated with the latest research, trends and best practices in early childhood education and incorporate them into training materials.

Program Evaluation and Reporting:

• Collect and analyze data on program effectiveness, provider performance, and child outcomes.
• Implement feedback processes to continuously improve coaching practices and program impact.
• Maintain accurate records of coaching activities, provide interactions, and professional development sessions.
• Assist with the development and refinement of program materials and resources.
• Manage scheduling and logistics for training events and site visits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and report writing.
• Strong organization and time management skills.

Work Environment:

• Frequent travel to childcare provider sites throughout the ESU 10 area.
• Monthly evening work
